Qualification Overview

The aim of the QUALIFI Level 7 Diploma in Clinical Aesthetic Practice, and its associated Certificates and Awards, is to provide learners with advanced understanding of aesthetic procedures and the essential underpinning knowledge required to perform Botulinum Toxin and dermal filler treatments safely and effectively.

This qualification develops both the theoretical expertise and practical clinical skills required to practise competently within the field of elective non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Learners will enhance their clinical reasoning, professional judgement, and technical ability, enabling career progression within the rapidly evolving aesthetics industry.

Learning Outcomes 

Dermatology, Anatomy and Pathophysiology for Clinical Aesthetic Practice

Learners will develop applied knowledge and understanding of the anatomical structures of the face, including:

• Musculature

• Innervation

• Vascular supply

• Age, gender, and ethnicity-related anatomical variations

This knowledge will be applied to assess facial characteristics, lines, folds, and volume changes to support safe and effective aesthetic procedures.

Complication Management for Aesthetic Practice

Learners will develop the knowledge and skills required to manage complications arising from non-surgical cosmetic procedures.

This unit also requires learners to carry out post-procedure evaluation and reflection to support continuous professional improvement and patient safety.

Body Dysmorphia Disorder and Psychological First Aid in Beauty, Wellness and Aesthetic Practice

Learners will explore:

• The importance of gaining informed consent

• Identifying red flags and risk factors for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD)

• Appropriate referral pathways

• Tailored aftercare planning

Learners are introduced to the principles of Psychological First Aid (PFA) using a trauma-informed approach. This equips practitioners to create psychologically safe environments while maintaining professional boundaries when clients present with acute anxiety, emotional trauma, or psychological vulnerability.

Clinical Aesthetic Procedures: Botulinum Toxin Injections for the Face

Learners will:

• Conduct comprehensive consultation and assessment

• Plan and prepare for clinical aesthetic procedures

• Follow legislative, regulatory, and organisational requirements

• Implement safe, hygienic, and effective working practices

Learners will formulate personalised treatment plans, deliver botulinum toxin procedures safely, provide aftercare advice, and carry out post-procedure evaluation and reflection to support continuous improvement.

Clinical Aesthetic Procedures: Temporary Dermal Fillers for the Face

Learners will:

• Conduct consultation, assessment, planning and preparation

• Follow procedural protocols and legislative requirements

• Identify and implement safe and hygienic working practices

Learners will formulate personalised dermal filler treatment plans, deliver procedures safely and effectively, provide appropriate aftercare advice, and evaluate and reflect on treatment outcomes for ongoing professional development.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following:

A Qualifi Level 5 or Level 6 Certificate or Diploma in Aesthetic Practice (or equivalent regulated qualification), which must include at least one Level 6 unit.

OR

A Level 6 degree or equivalent as a qualified healthcare professional with evidence of relevant skincare, anatomy and physiology knowledge to support aesthetic procedures.

Healthcare professionals must be registered with a national professional healthcare statutory regulatory body in the country where the qualification is being delivered.
There must be no conditions attached to their practice.
Professional registration numbers will be required.

Additional Requirement

All applicants must hold:

• Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Anaphylaxis management qualification

Qualified medical/healthcare professionals registered with a Professional Health Care Statutory Regulatory Body are exempt, provided they can evidence completion of mandatory BLS and Management of Anaphylaxis training as part of their CPD.
